Choosing Floor Tiles

Is a bleedin' nightmare!!!!!
I have been trying to work out what is best for the money and durability and look! I have been led up many a blind alley, and still have no idea what i am going to choose.
I started off thinking a floor tile is a floor tile, oh no - there is ceramic, porcelain, stone, all different in price, and properties, aswell as appearance.
I didnt have a massive budget, but didn't want cheap and useless and especially ones that I made need to replace in a year or two. As I was also intending to put the tiles on the floor aswell, I made the decision that i would be better off going for the ceramic as they are meant to be easier to cut.
One decision made..... I wasnt sure exactly of colour that I would end up with, but then the choices surprisingly aren't that simple either, satin, matt, gloss, smooth, riven, rustic, contemporary aahhhhh. I really felt like just throwing a dart and seeing where it landed - but I regained my senses and started the process, I knew I wanted something semi-natural looking, and of a natural kind of shade to try and keep the neutral tones, and this was a really big help. This started the decision making ball rolling, only 15 minutes later and hey presto, my tile was chosen, purchased from Tileclick in the end on line, a great floor tile at a great price.
So before I go looking again, i will m,ake sure i have a much better idea of what i need, before i start looking!
